Crochet 101 - 5 Best Crochet Hook Sets and Where to Buy Them
So, you’ve been inspired to learn how to crochet. You either saw something on Instagram, or maybe Tik Tok. You’ve looked at some Youtube Tutorials and now you’re ready to begin your journey!
But, you saw that tutorial and you’re not sure where to begin? You’ve wandered around Michaels only to leave with something totally unrelated to crocheting. (because we can never leave Michaels empty handed haha) All the yarn, hooks, and tools can make it really hard to know where to begin!

It’s time to get HOOKED
So, we begin with the proper tools for the job and we start with hooks. There are a few different types of hooks that you can use, some will break your bank and some not so much. But, when you’re first beginning you’re probably going to want to start small. You can always upgrade later.
When I first started I bought this kit from Amazon:
Honestly, this is the best bang for your buck. I still use a lot of these hooks to this day. Also, it comes with stitch markers, tapestry needles and a cute carrying case. The rubber is super comfortable to crochet with and helps to crochet for longer periods of time. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this product. This is an all in one kit that will be a great start to your crochet journey!
Want something a little more instagram worthy?
These bamboo hooks are surprisingly smooth to work with. Plus, they make some great boho inspired instagram posts. You don’t get all the stitch markers and such like the set above. But, you do get a wider range of hook sizes.
